Yesterday we saw that a “Perfect Heart” is a “Trusting Heart.” Today, I want to describe a “Perfect Heart” as being a “Broken Heart”!

A Perfect Heart (pt 1 of 2)

The Psalmist wrote, “Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted and You delivered them [as He promised!]. They cried to You and were delivered; they trusted and relied on You, and were not ashamed or confounded or disappointed” (Psalm 22:4-5).

The Hebrew root word for “trust” gives you the image of “flinging oneself off a precipice.” Ooh . . . Picture a child who has climbed up into the rafters and cannot get down. He hears his father say, “Jump!” and he obeys, throwing himself into the air, trusting his father’s arms will catch him. Wow! What an image. (more…)
