Their Boldness

As you could probably tell, I have been reading Acts lately. Let’s look again at 4:13: “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13). Now where the NIV says, “the saw the courage of Peter and John . . .” Other translations say something like: “They couldn’t take their eyes off them—Peter and John standing there so confident, so sure of themselves!” or “they saw the boldness and unfettered eloquence of Peter and John . . .” That one is cool!

Finding Boldness

I truly hope these Morning Messages have been stirring your heart some. But something I hope you have learned is that the more someone is with Jesus, the more that person becomes like Him. The evidence will be in a life of purity, holiness and love. This is why I send these messages to you. I so want the love and desire of our Lord to burn within you; that your only thought will be about him. In turn, his pure walk will produce a boldness—a love—for your Father.
