It is so easy to continually look at our progress in our walk with the Lord:
“Do I pray enough?”
“Am I praying the correct way?”
“Is my testimony exciting enough to share?“
We continually check our spiritual “height” to see if we measure up with the other “spiritual” men and woman around us. We try to compare our maturity with other believers. It’s like a child in third grade trying to compare them self to an eighth-grader.
Be liberated with the wisdom and insight of A.W. Tozer:
“While we are looking at God we do not see ourselves — blessed riddance.
The man who has struggled to purify himself and has had nothing but repeated failures will experience real relief when he stops tinkering with his soul and looks away to the perfect One.
While he looks at Christ the very things he has so long been trying to do will be getting done within him. It will be God working in him to will and to do.” (The Pursuit of God)
