Someone recently sent me an email confessing that their entire Christian walk, they had never been convinced that they were accepted by the Lord. That no matter how tried, they were never good enough for Him — like they just don’t measure up. Every day, they were spinning their wheels, trying to appease Him by doing something good for others.
Wow! How distressing. He had read many of my messages, and still didn’t get it. But I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised, many Christians feels this way! Over the years I have known all kinds of believers who never experienced any assurance in the Lord. They felt unworthy, unclean, unloved. They never believed that they were a delight to the heart of God, so they were always trying to work out something in their lives to please Him. If they failed in one area, they did three things in another area to try to make Gawd happy.
Oh my dear friends, should never happen in the life of a someone who has come to the Lord! When you surrender your life to Jesus, no matter how hard you work, or what you do, you cannot make up anything to Him. No, He makes it all up to you because that is who He is! He says, “I will restore to you those years of trouble. The years that the “locusts” ate your crops.” (Joel 2:25).
I don’t care what you have done, or what has happened in your life. No matter what your failures or shortcomings may be, our God restores it all for you!
You want to know something? King David was anything but a perfect angel. How was a very natural man. He was prideful, expressed anger, shed innocent blood, but even still, he was able to declare, “He took me to a safe, open place. Because he delights in me, he rescued and delivered me” (Psalm 18:19).
Whoa! He “delighted” in him? David was saying, “Despite all of the things I have done; despite all of the times I failed Him, I bring pleasure to Him? He delivered me simply because He takes pleasure in me!” That is too good to be true, but this morning I am assuring you that if you have sworn your allegiance to Him, He takes pleasure in you and me, as well!
You see, those of us trust in the Lord are HiHs holy Zion, His Holy remnant. A remnant simply means that we are “those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” We have been called out of a lazy Christendom and are totally devoted to Jesus.
To the chosen of Zion, God says: “You are a beautiful crown crown of majesty and glory in the hand of Yahweh, a royal diadem in the hand of your Elohim. You will never again be called Abandoned or Deserted. You are now called ·the People God Loves, ‘His Delight Is In You,‘ and you are know as the Bride of God. You are now named “My Delight,” and your land is named Married.” (Isaiah 62:3-4).
So quit trying to “earn his love,” as Paul promised, “Now that we have God’s approval by faith, we have peace with God because of what our Lord Yeshua Christ has done. Through Christ we can approach God and stand in his favor. So we brag because of our confidence that we will receive glory from God. But that’s not all. We also brag when we are suffering. We know that suffering creates endurance, endurance creates character, and character creates confidence. We are not ashamed to have this confidence, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us! (Romans 5:1-5).
So, to the brother who wrote his honest, yet sad not, thank you for your honesty and willingness to share that with me, but be encouraged that you are loved, but not only that, your Father is delighted to have you in His Family, so welcome aboard!Nickolas
