Don’t Be Overcome

If you are facing difficulties, let me tell you, or possibly remind you and to renew your strength, I don’t care what is going on, no enemy can stand against the power of the Name of Jesus!

Now please remember that when we use that name, it is not a magic mantra we chant to get results! Praying in Jesus’ name means praying with His authority and asking our Father to act on our prayers because we come in the name of His Son, Jesus. Praying in Jesus’ name means the same thing as praying according to the will of God. John wrote,

“We are confident that God listens to us if we ask for anything that has his approval. We know that he listens to our requests. So we know that we already have what we ask him for” (I John 5:14-15).

Praying in Jesus’ name is praying for things that will honor and glorify His Son Jesus.

If what we ask for something in prayer that is not for God’s glory and according to His will, saying “in Jesus’ name” means nothing. However, genuinely praying in the magnificent name of Jesus and for His glory is what is important, not attaching certain words to the end of a prayer. It is not the words in the prayer that matter, but rather the purpose behind the prayer, the attitude and condition of the heart that is praying! Praying for things that are in agreement with God’s will is the essence of praying in Jesus’ name and the enemies of our Father are fully aware of this.

What we often forget is that our spiritual enemies are our Father’s enemies, and His power dwells within us! This is why no foe or adversary can withstand us as we walk in His power and exercise our authority in Christ. James told us, “You believe that there is one God. That’s great! The demons also believe that, and they tremble with fear,” so when we speak to sickness, even cancer or arthritis or any of those autoimmune diseases or whatever is ailing you, they must bow to the name of Jesus. You may be weak and insignificant, but  He is mighty!

This is why Jesus was able to proclaim, “These are the miraculous signs that will accompany believers: They will use the power and authority of my name to force demons out of people.” He is victorious! He is the conqueror! Speak to the storms that are threatening your life! Speak to those bees who are bringing discomfort and irritation! There is nothing about you that has authority over even nature, but our Lord Jesus, the Mighty Conqueror, the Almighty God, The Great I Am, Immovable Rock, Omnipotent, Powerful, Awesome Lord has all of the authority we need!

Just open your heart and meditate and on these truths, and He will renew our vision. He will remove the blinders that have allowed our enemies to appear victorious. We can rise up in His power and find our enemies under our feet! Oh I pray that our Father would broaden our vision. Give us a revelation of our authority through His Son, Jesus, and the victory He had won on Calvary! Oh, how I wish we could realize the power that is living on the inside of us, that we could wield the sword of the Spirit against the enemies that contend with our Father’s will in our life and limit the Glory of our Lord!

Oh Father, give us that revelation. Burn it into our spirits and show us how to stand victorious, in the Wonder and Magnificence of our Lord and King, Messiah Jesus!

With these Morning Messages, I take you on guided tours to, as Bunyan described, the Celestial City. At times we linger at corners familiar and unseen. And explore the depths of our faith along the way.

The trail is long, but there’s no hurry. Though we do need to stock up on supplies for the way, and that’s where I need your help. If you enjoy these messages, please consider becoming a contributing member of this tour group. It will be very much appreciated.
