I owe each of you a big apology. I have spent far too much time on the “Fourth Day,” word regarding the Sabbath. And I have given you far more information than you need. No, no one sent me an angry email complaining, but the Spirit of God spoke very clearly on this.
I have shared things the Lord showed me but were not necessarily things you needed to know, and they certainly were not very “inspirational,” or “encouraging,” which are things I have intended to give you in these Morning Messages.
However, I can share something Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus. Let‘s look at:
“Therefore, remember your former state: you were Gentiles (or aliens of all of Yahweh’s promises) by birth . . . (arrogantly) called the uncircumcised by those who, merely because of an operation on their flesh, are called the Circumcised . . . at that time you had no Messiah. You were estranged from the national life of Israel. You were foreigners to the covenants embodying God‘s promise. You were in this world without hope and without God!“
Oh, my! What a horrible thought! That wasn’t very encouraging. I am sorry.
But now, [Oh, wait! What a beautiful thought. You were dead in your sin, “without hope and without God” But now, something has changed!] you who were once far off have been brought near [How?] through the shedding of the Messiah‘s blood” (Ephesians 2:11-13)
Oh, yeah! That is encouraging! Those of us who have sworn allegiance to the Messiah, have become the seed of Abraham and joined to all of Israel‘s covenants. All that simply by our faith, our trust, in the Savior, Christ Jesus! Yeah, we may have been born foreigners and alien to those promises, but that ain’t true anymore! We can now take part in all of those covenants!
Does that make us physical Jews? Of course not! Don’t be foolish. It is that awesome duality of Yahweh’s universe: where we experience both a physical side and a spiritual side when God is dealing with us.
When Paul says there is neither Jew nor Gentile, male nor female, that certainly doesn‘t mean the world suddenly became Unisex, that there are no more anatomical distinctions between the sexes.
However, on the spiritual level, Christ broke all of those distinctions in Heaven, in the spirit world. No matter what that distinction had been — color, race, sex, nationality, rich or poor, slave or free, Jew or gentile — from a spiritual point of view, our Redeemer sees all Believers as bonded, grafted, adopted into the promises he gave to Israel. All this by simply trusting Christ and uniting with Him! Oh, what wonderful thoughts.
All Believers have received the benefits of (and are subject to) all the spiritual principles of the Torah, but not necessarily all the Hebrew-cultural rituals. You may not have understood this, but do you remember Jesus‘s sermon on the mount? It was all about ignoring the traditions of men while reaffirming the principles behind the law. All of those principles that had been obscured by those man-made traditions.
In the last few messages, I gave you a whole bunch of information, and I was going to give you even more. But you don’t need to read it. Whatever you decide to do about all the things I have shared, but none of it determine your Salvation!. You aren’t saved by observing the Sabbath or keeping the feasts. It isn’t “the Sabbath plus faith in Jesus” that saves you; no, your Salvation is only determined through your faith in Jesus! Nothing more. It is faith in Him that gives us our redemption!
