Enriched Prayers

Spurgeon said,

“If you want splendid power in prayer, you must remain in loving, living, lasting, conscious, practical, abiding union with the Lord Jesus Christ.”

We should seek allow our relationship with Jesus to grow closer, just like the relationship he had with His (now, our) Father. Take a look:

This is eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and Yeshua Christ, whom you sent. On the Earth, I glorified You by accomplishing the work which You have given Me to do. Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world even existed! (John 17:3-5)

Now, isn’t that the kind of relationship we should be enjoying? To know our Father? To perceive Him in every situation we face; to recognize His work in our lives; to become acquainted with Him and to understand His actions in our lives? That is the relationship we were given to experience and to enjoy!

As Theologian Frederick Buechner encouraged us: “Go where your best prayers take you!”
